Roadmap

Technology roadmaps are forecasts of possible future technical developments, taking into account framework conditions and circumstances such as demographic trends, the environment, resources, consumers’ behaviour etc.

Roadmapping denotes procedures designed to facilitate strategy development and planning in organisations with regard to the future long-term development or application of technologies. Roadmaps, the end-products of this roadmapping process, aim to point out structuring and decision-making aids, and one or more possible routes (“roads”) in order to arrive at a defined destination. All persons required for the later realisation of the objective are incorporated into the process at an early stage.
